Mumbai, Oct 30 (UNI) The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday rallied 220.73 points to 40,052.57 as buying was seen across-the-board.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 57.25 points to 11,844.10.
The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 40,100.26 and 39,805.11 points respectively. The Nifty recorded day intra-day high and low at 11,883.95 and 11,784.45 points respectively.
The sectoral indices like Materials, FMCG, Finance, Health Care and IT stocks kept the market up in early trade.
The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 2.72 pc to Rs 369.75, Infosys by 2.69 pc to 668.10, ITC by 2.57 pc to Rs 259.75 and HDFC Bank by 1.36 pc to Rs 1259.
The losers were Tata Motors by 1.59 pc to Rs 169.80, Tata Steel by 1.56 pc to Rs 384.90, Maruti Suzuki by 1.45 pc to Rs 7606.65 and ICICI Bank by 1.37 pc to Rs 471.
