New Delhi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a meeting on Thursday with BJP office bearers, spokespersons, morchas and other party organisations at the party office and held consultation on Union Budget to be presented on February 1.
Party Working President JP Nadda , BJP General Secretaries Bhupendra Yadav and Arun Singh were among those who attended the meeting.
Ms Sitharaman has held a series of consultations and sought suggestions from various stakeholders in the economy representing different sectors to seek inputs from them.
She has held pre-budget meetings with stakeholders from Industry, trade, startups, Fintech and Digital Sector and Experts from water and sanitation sectors.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been meeting the country's top economists and experts for past one week to discuss the state of economy and steps to be taken to revive growth which is estimated to drop to 5 per cent during the current fiscal -- the slowest in 11 years.
Earlier in the day, Mr Modi in a tweet, invited ideas and suggestions for the Union Budget 2020 on MyGov.
He said, 'The Union Budget represents the aspirations of 130 crore Indians and lays out the path towards India’s development. I invite you all to share your ideas and suggestions for this year’s Budget on MyGov.'
