We have not only made this film to show our respect towards soldiers but also for their families and our entire nation.” Sooraj plays a happy-go-lucky Indian soldier ‘Satellite Shankar’ – who wants to leave his base and visit his mother. Once his holidays are sanctioned, Shankar goes on an epic road trip to his home town, and along the way gets entangled in one adventure after another.
Talking about how he got film offer of ‘Satellite Shankar’, Sooraj said, “I have heard a lot of scripts but this script is one of best scripts that I have heard. Even though I am new in this industry as an actor but I have been working as an assistant director since I was 18 years old. I have worked with very talented directors like Sanjay Bhansali sir and Kabir Khan sir so, maybe I am not an expert but I think I have some kind of knowledge about scripts.”
He added, “When I read this film’s script it was like one of the best scripts that I had heard. I didn’t want to react very happy in front of the director because when the actor shows too much confidence in the script then maybe he (director) can approach some bigger actor for the film. I feel very blessed that Irfan (Kamal) sir came to me because he could have approach anyone else for his film and I still don’t why he came to me but I am really glad that I did this film.”
Starring Sooraj Pancholi and Megha Akash, directed by Irfan Kamal, ‘Satellite Shankar’ is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde. The film is slated to release in theatres on 08th November.
