Kathmandu. Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Tuesday administered the oaths of office and secrecy to the newly-appointed province governors. President Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-appointed governors — Somnath Adhikari ‘Pyasi’ (Province 1), Tilak Pariyar (Province 2), Bishnu Prasad Prasain (Province 3), Amik Sherchan (Gandaki Province), Dharmanath Yadav (Province 5), Govinda Prasad Kalauni (Karnali Province), and Sharmeela Kumari Pant (Sudurpaschim Province) at a special function at Rashtrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas, The Himalyan reported.

The President on Monday had appointed the state governors in line with recommendation of the Cabinet as per Article 163 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana, National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, ministers, high-ranking government officials, and security agencies’ chiefs were present on the occasion.
